Have Your Own World Series of Poker

Don't have the $10,000 necessary for the buy-in at the World Series of Poker? Many people are finding they can get the same thrill competing against friends in their own game at home. It isn't difficult to turn your family room into a mini version of the Rio Casino and you will be all set to go.

The first thing you must do if you are going to host a game is determine how many people to invite and what the buy-ins are going to be. A typical friendly home game might include a $25 buy-in and for that a person would receive 250 chips. The buy-ins and the total number of chips can be adjusted up or down depending on the size of your poker party and their pocketbooks. The winner should receive a payout of 70% of the pot, with second place getting 20% and third getting 10%. If you have 10 people that means a top prize of $175, second place would get $50 and third place gets their buy-in back of $25.

Ten is a good number to have for your game because most of the poker tables made for hold-em contain spots at the tables for players. If you are going to host the games then it is absolutely necessary that you have a table constructed especially for this competition. If you have ever been to a casino where hold-em is played or watched on television, you have seen the long oval table that is used. These are great because each player can get a good look at all of the other players to try and pick up their "tells".

If you are looking for a portable poker table that can be brought out only for hold-em games expect to pay around $400 for a good one. You can find an excellent selection at many poker supply stores. They also have a number of finely crafted premium tables that will rival any that you would see in any casino; they are made of hardwood, chrome, and marble.

If you are going to be hosting the big game you will also be expected to provide the chips that are used. You want to make sure that you have enough to give every player a fair chance to compete in the game. Some hosts will make different color chips worth different amounts while others will just keep the value the same to keep it simple. If you are going to host a ten person game try to have at least one thousand chips to distribute. Many poker supply stores also have a wide variety of chips and playing cards for purchase including complete poker chip sets that come in attractive wood cases which make excellent gifts dissertation writing services.

Secrets of Becoming the Dominant Male

As a man, you need to be decisive and make decisions.

Become comfortable with being in charge and in command.

If you want to go to the beach that Sunday, tell your woman,
"Let's go to the beach... and have a barbecue! Quick, get
ready."

If she asks you which pair of shoes looks better for the
evening, tell her. Have an opinion. Don't just say to her, "I
don't know... whatever you like better."

Women often want to just relax knowing that you have taken
care of everything. Being decisive means taking the lead and
surprising your woman.

On the other hand, if you're unable to be decisive and take
charge, your woman will feel your weakness and take charge
for you. She will start telling YOU what to do, nag you, and try
to micromanage you.

Taking charge and being decisive however doesn't mean
taking domineering control over your woman however. Taking
charge
doesn't mean micromanaging her activities, telling her
what to wear all the time, or telling her who she's allowed to
see. It doesn't mean playing dictator.

You want to be dominant, but not domineering. You want to
be strong, and yet sweet.

Nor do you need to create a woman who is subservient. In
fact, your woman should not hesitate to offer you her advice
based on her experience and feelings.

So do I mean exactly by "take control"?

...taking control does NOT mean being macho.

...taking control does NOT mean belting or popping a woman
one when she gets out of line.

...taking control does NOT mean emotionally abusing a
woman.

...taking control does NOT mean putting a woman down.

...taking control does NOT mean losing your temper,
screaming, or yelling.

And never to become brutal or violent physically or verbally
with your woman. Creating a Fascist atmosphere with
domineering behavior is interpreted by your woman as a form
of weakness, and she'll come to despise you for it. She will
lose all respect for you, and rightfully so, because it's cruel
behavior.

A domineering man is unsure of himself- a domineering man is
insecure- a domineering man is not the romantic hero women
dream of but a thug who resorts to violence for control
because he lacks control from the power of his natural
charisma.

So while you rightfully want to avoid the, "I'm a desperate
super-nice guy, I-have-to-kiss-her-ass-so-that-hopefully-she-
likes-me" behavior, this doesn't mean you want to make the
mistake of being domineering either.

Always demonstrate that you are gentle, sensitive, loving, and
caring. Many men make the mistake of believing that being
nice means being a pushover. It's not. You still want to nice
and loving to your woman, just not in a placating way, but from
the position of taking command and being a man of action.

So you have to take control over the situation without losing
control
over yourself. You want to be able to be in control of
any situation without resorting to any sort of domineering
behavior. Being in control and being decisive simply means
that you are a man of action, that you have direction, and are
comfortable taking control when the moment arises.

Why you ASK???

So I tried explaining this whole blog thing to my friends. Some get it and some just don't. So I am composing my list of why I am blogging. Or why someone should blog.
  1. My own special forum to vent.
  2. Somewhere to share my love for stuff and people.
  3. For my fans.
  4. A place to practise my writing.
  5. Somewhere to post all those little ideas I have that normally get forgotten or lost or scribbled on some anonymous paper... and then lost.
  6. Of course somewhere to post pics of my portfolio.
  7. To keep in touch with my friends. But that matches point #3 doesn't it?
  8. My big online scrapbook/journal/photo album/space.
  9. My piece of the internet world!
I think I'm starting to repeat myself...
